Privacy
Groupo is run by Biz59 LLC, New York (USA). This page explains what we keep and why. For any question or to use your rights: contacto@groupo.app.
What we keep
- Account: your email address (to sign in with a code), display name, city, interests, language, the date you gave consent and your confirmation that you're 18 or over.
- Signup photo: the live photo is only used to approve your signup. It is encrypted, seen by a person on our team (every view is logged), then deleted at the decision and at the latest 72 hours after you sent it. It is never shown, never matched against other faces and never searched online.
- Profile photo (optional): a separate photo you choose, shown according to your settings (Everyone, My contacts or Nobody). It gets an automatic check for nudity and illegal content, because strangers can see it.
- Messages, plans and media: your messages, plans, polls, photos, videos and voice notes, to deliver them. File metadata (GPS location, device) is removed on upload. Media is encrypted on our servers.
- Approximate location: only if you allow it, to sort Explorar groups by distance. Your exact position isn't stored or shown to anyone.
- Device: a notification token so we can tell you about new messages and plan reminders.
What we don't do
- No bot reads your private chats. A person on our team only sees messages when someone reports them (the last 5 messages of that chat).
- No ads, no selling data.
- Chats are encrypted in transit (TLS) and on our servers, but not end to end.
Where and for how long
Signup photos and chat media are stored on our server in Germany. Account data and messages are in a database managed by our hosting provider in the USA. Disappearing messages are deleted at the time you chose; a message deleted for everyone goes with its media. If you delete your account, your profile, interests and devices are erased and your messages are deleted for everyone. Reports and moderation decisions about you are kept as long as needed to handle an appeal and answer the authorities.
Providers
- Hosting: our servers in Germany and a managed database in the USA.
- Notifications: Expo, Apple and Google, which receive your device token and the notification text.
- Translation: DeepL (Germany) receives a message's text only when you ask for a translation.
Your rights
In the app, under Yo (Me), you can download your data and delete your account. You can also email us to access, correct or erase your data or object to its use, and complain to the Spanish data protection agency, AEPD (aepd.es), if you're not happy with our answer.
Contact point
Single point of contact for authorities and users (Digital Services Act, Articles 11 and 12): contacto@groupo.app, in Spanish or English.
